A process for the production of this Rare Earth Phosphor have been developed for use in high pressure mercury vapour lamps and metal halide lamps for converting the UV light to visible light. The phosphor is of high efficiency and lamps prepared using this phosphor can meet the requirements of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
