Microstepping of a stepper motor improves positioning resolution in any servo control applications. This technique is used to directly drive inertial loads with motor, without gear interface. The gearing is achieved electronically to get positions lesser than normal step angle of motor. For microstep rotor positioning the current ratioing is done in two phases in order to maintain relation of rotor displacement electrical angle Vs the developed torque. To increase micro-step resolution, the rotor position is corrected by using close loop algorithm. |
