For execution of the program on ‘SAFE DRINKING WATER’ at various locations across the country.
Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), the premier scientific organizations of India have developed a number of technologies for Desalination and Water Purification. A reasonably large program is formulated to provide safe drinking water in the next few years to about 50 million population spread across the country by setting up a number of ‘Point-of-use devices for water purification’, more than 3000 community plants for desalination and the treatment for arsenic, iron, fluoride and microbial contaminants. The aim is to ensure the availability of safe drinking water to the affected population in a reliable, sustainable and affordable manner using the indigenous technologies and supplementing with market technologies, wherever needed.
The implementation of the program envisages a synergistic participation of DAE-CSIR, Private industries / Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Users (Local associations such as self help group / local samitis etc.).
The technologies developed by DAE & CSIR are available at the website and are available for technology transfer to entrepreneurs on a chargeable basis. For setting up and sustaining the facility, Public Private Partnership may also be considered.
The NGOs/ industrial participants are expected to identify needy areas, deploy appropriate technologies, operate and maintain the systems in a sustainable manner in coordination with local population. Partial financial support may be available on merit-cum- means basis.
Expression of Interest (EOI) is requested from the interested Groups/ Institutions indicating name of the company /participating agency, brief description on the nature of engagement in providing drinking water, technical credentials (including owned technologies), experience, financial credentials and references, at the address given under within 30 days of this advertisement .
