The technology for the assembly of the particulate respirator filter canisters and testing of assembled canisters of particulate removal efficiency and flow resistance characteristics was developed at BARC. These canisters are to be used with face masks of respiratory protective equipment for protection against airborne particulates. The canisters are compact and light in weight. They provide very high particulate removal efficiency even for particles of submicron size with very low resistance to air flow. This technology will enable the local industry to meet the growing requirements of these canisters by users of such protective equipment.
