8K MCA PC ADD ON CARD PCA – 95


This 8K MCA PC add on Card (PCA) provides solution to pulse height analyser requirements. This card is designed to plug in an expansion slot of IBM PC. The PCA accepts input from a spectroscopy amplifier for pulse height analysis and offers all features of a research grade stand alone 8K multichannel anlayser.
The PCA 8K ADC is built around a commercial successive approximation type ADC and has fixed conversion time of around 20 µsec. A memory interface circuit with 4K FIFO is used to store and transfer ADC output data to PC memory. The PCA accepts input from spectroscopy amplifier, to analyse and display the pulse height spectrum. ADC conversion gain is software programmable. The PCA provides an interactive user interface along with live display of data being acquired and other related parameters. Use of isolated power supplies and ground provides a noise free operation resulting into a superior performance. Data processing can be done with any standard software and all standard features like spectrum smoothing, peak search and energy calibration are incorporated.

Base line : Adjustable from 0 to 200mV, with a 20 tu potentiometer mounted on the panel.
Memory : Use 24 KB of PC memory for acquisition.
Memory Capacity : 16 MCounts per channel.
Time base : Preset live or clock time selectable to more than 100 days.
Display : Supports CGA/EGA graphics adapter.
Provides live display of 8K spectrum in One window and simultaneous display of expanded Spectrum in other window alongwith status Information.
Vertical Full Scale Adjustable from 256 counts to 16 Mcounts
