Dr. B. Purniah is currently working as Head, International Studies Division (ISD), Strategic Planning Group (SPG), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Mumbai. His functions include liaison with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in scientific collaborations and energy planning. Dr Purniah belong to 18th batch of BARC Training School. Dr. Purniah has joined the Department of Atomic Energy after the successful completion of his one year training school programme in Nuclear Science and Technology. During the first 30 years of his career, Dr. Purniah was working in the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam. At IGCAR, he worked on computer simulation of defects and radiation damage in materials, in the development of several R&D instruments such as variable energy position beam setup, X – ray image plate scanner and others. He obtained his Masters in Physics from Delhi University and his Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Madras. Dr. Purniah is concurrently designated as the RCA National Representative from India since March 2008. As the RCA National Representative of India, Dr. Purniah is responsible for the formulation and successful implementation of all RCA projects in India and coordinates with Project Coordinators,National Institutions and end users. Besides, he is the Coordinator for Indo-German Bilateral Programme. Dr. Purniah is a member of various professional forums of scientists in India. Dr. Purniah has got a number of publications in various international/national journals/publications during this period.

Dr. P.R. Unni is the RCA Liaison Officer and take care of the routine RCA activities in the country and extend support to the RCA National Representative in the successful implementation of various ongoing RCA Programmes. Dr.Unni has joined BARC in the year 1980 and specialized in radiochemical processing of different reactor produced radioisotopes of medical and industrial significance. He was also involved in the development of therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals. Dr. Unni has acquired Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering as well as did his Masters in Science and Ph.D research work in the fields of medically important radioisotope production, separation, purification and preparation of some of the labelled complexes for their possible use in therapy. Dr. Unni has got 35 publications in various international journals/ symposias and conferences. Dr.Unni is also a member of various professional forums of scientists in India.
