Gurushikhar Observatory for AstrophysicaL Sciences (GOALS)

A state of the art gamma ray observatory, GOALS has been recently established at Mt. Abu (24.6^o N, 72.7^o E, 1400m asl), a hill resort in Western India, for studying the universe in the Very High Energy (VHE) band (~10¹² eV). The TACTIC telescope and the prototype MYSTIQUE array which use the atmospheric Cerenkov technique for the detection of the VHE gamma rays have been set up there.
